Pilgrim jewelry is hand-made.  It is made of tin, zinc, or brass, which is copper plated.  The copper is then plated with either sterling silver or 16 to 22 carat gold.  Silver and gold surfaces can be oxidised to different degrees.  All jewelry is surface treated with a very strong finish to prevent rapid cooling.
