  • IT'S A GREAT EXPERIENCE IN DOWNTOWN NORTHVILLE!

  • Artwalk / Shopping / Dining

The First Friday of each month downtown Northville celebrates the arts with their long running First Friday Experience.  You’ll find something new each month as many of the town’s galleries and boutiques stay open late with special guests, trunk shows, music and their newest merchandise.

Starring “The Gallery” hosts an artist reception each month.  Some of our artists have exhibited with us in the past and others will be exhibiting with us for the first time – each showcasing their newest pieces in their own unique style. Each artist will be available to answer questions and their artwork will be on display and available for purchase throughout the remainder of the month.

Artists, hors d'oeuvres, shopping, music and good friends - Experience it all at Starring “The Gallery” during the First Friday Experience.

Artist Bio: Howell artist, Pamela Stoddard, works mainly in acrylics and mixed media/collage; as she finds these mediums allow her to work in a personal, spontaneous way. Her award-winning work has been shown in juried and non-juried exhibitions throughout the state of Michigan; as well as being chosen for several solo exhibitions. She is a member of the Brighton Art Guild.

Artist Statement: I paint from an emotional standpoint. What is happening in my life, as well as the impact my surroundings or events have on my thoughts, influence my work.  My work is about the human condition. And through my paintings, I share my interpretation of those universal emotions, feelings and experiences.

My creative process begins when a certain object, experience, word or phrase trigger an idea for a painting. That painting may start immediately or the idea may rest in the back of my mind until something brings it to the forefront again, and there the painting begins.  My abstract style allows me to express feelings or emotions rather than paint an object or scene. I focus on creating depth and dimension using color, line & texture while allowing what I need to say to escape onto the canvas.  Sometimes it is a surprise to me - the meaning unfolding as I paint.
